   Preheat oven to 375°F.

   In a thick-bottomed skillet, heat butter over medium heat. Cook, whisking frequently, until butter melts and starts to brown, about 5 to 8 minutes. Once butter is browned and has a nutty aroma, remove from heat and pour into a heat-proof bowl to let cool slightly.

   Drape pie crust over pie dish and gently press to fit. Trim edge to 1" and crimp edges. Bake until very lightly golden brown, about 15 minutes. Increase oven to 400°F.

   In a large bowl, beat eggs until slightly foamy. Stir in browned butter, white sugar and brown sugar. Whisk until fully combined. Stir in flour, milk, bourbon and vanilla. Stir in pecans and chocolate until well combined. Pour mixture into parbaked pie crust.

   Bake pie for 10 minutes, then lower oven temperature to 325°F and bake until the top no longer jiggles in the center, about 30 minutes.
